Steve The Builder Begins

My first solo podcast is now available at Ancient Faith Radio

Avid followers of my blog will recognize some of the themes and subjects of several of the initial podcasts, but they've been expanded, sanitized and fleshed out for general consumption.

Bill and I will continue doing Our Life in Christ as we can hammer out time out of our mutual kid/life/work/church schedules, but this is a bit of a hobby for in between.

Glad to see this Steve. I am currently working on a new podcast with one of our deacons with a catechetical theme. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Wow! I'm pumped! Are you going to use a modified version of "Bob the Builder" as your theme?

Hi Fr. Christian,
Email me privately and I can give you some tips, pointers, software/hardware ideas.
Fr. James, I hadn't heard of "Bob the Builder"... but then I don't watch TV and my youngest is 16. I didn't pick the name or do the theme etc., I'm just providing something to put in between the intro and outro. :)

I thought it was more likely a play on Joe the Plumber :-)

Steve,

Check out this website, and you'll get to hear the "Bob the Builder" theme. It's pretty catchy.

Can you tell I have young children?

Well it is about time. Seems everybody and their hamster has a podcast on AFR these days; good to see that you're on board, too.

David, LOL! My hamster got eaten by one of our dogs, so it got dropped from the list. My dog however is working on one. But true to "Orthodox time" it only took me two years since John originally asked to get around to actually start doing mine. With construction dying and having a lot of time on my hands lately, it seemed like something more fun to do than reading the newspaper about the economy or sleeping in. :)

Yes, but few of them are quite so morbid. I can tell this is really going to fill a gap in my New Year's resolution to remember death more often :-)

Hi Trevor, LOL! I don't have a set of rose colored glasses in my tool box. They're not going to be very sugar coated.

Congrats Steve! Best of Luck!

And it's a great platform for tie-in marketing of your books:

1) "Prayers to Keep All Your Body Parts" and the best-selling sequel: 2) "Prayers by the Table Saw by The Monkabees of Ah-hem"

Will also be looking forward to interviews with that guy who wrote the "Incarnate Carpenter" series... you know: "I Woodn't If I Were Yew", and "Incarnate... And Still Lovin' It!" and all the rest.
Next thing we know, you'll be starring in your own PBS TV show: "This Old Church with Steve the Builder".

Do you get your own entourage with this show? Name on the Door, Bigelow on the Floor? And how long 'til we see your first papparazzi "expose" in the checkout line? Aren't those things all part of the contract?

Really... best of luck. Sounds like a big commitment... but thanks for doing it.

I listened to your podcast announcment, and while I greeted the announcement with joy, I thought: What about Bill? Then I started getting a little worked up. Oh, sure, now AFR goes corporate and poor Bill gets downsized to the curb. Wonderful!

Then I read your post here and was reassured. Whew. Bill's stayin'.

Great! I look forward to hearing it!

Ah. That explains why my employer suddenly blocked access to the Ancient Faith Radio website.

ROTFL!! Heck, and I haven't even podcast my PG-13 program about sex yet. I thought I'd save that one until people are lulled into thinking all I'm going to talk about is death. LOL!

JtTH...you slay me, man! :)
But yeah, I'd be up for "This Old Church". One of my dreams is to travel the country and help Missions build their Churches. But before I'm 70.

I had a near death experience with a keyhole saw once.

Congratulations, s-p! I'm going to have a wonderful time listening.

s-p, I listened to your first podcast yesterday--twice! Very nicely done. It hit close to home for me.

Poor Bill...he got the Alan Colmes treatment... ;)
